Meet April

I am a sophomore engineering major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am was on the Clemson University Dance Marathon philanthropy committee and am involved in Greek Life and the Catholic Student Association. I love going to football games and working out at Fike! I lived in Holmes freshman year and am in the Calhoun honors college, so feel free to ask me anything about the honors program!

A lot of people ask me why I came to

Clemson all the way from PA, and I tell them, "Because I fell in love with it from my first visit! It just felt right." I love Clemson with all my heart. I have truly embraced the Clemson spirit. I'm so glad I chose it and hope you have as fantastic of an experience as I am having.

A few tips to get you started:

1. Get involved, but not too involved! Remember, in college, academics are your first priority.

2. Find a study spot right for you. Having a consistent study spot is comforting. For example, I call the second floor silent zone in Cooper Library home and it is where I go for most of my study sessions.

3. Use your resources. Go to Supplemental Instruction. Go to review sessions. Go to office hours. In my experience, teachers want to help you. They have made a huge impact on my academic success in my first 2 semesters.

I'm so excited to meet you over the summer! If you have any questions before then or just want to say hi, send me an email at abittne@clemson.edu! Don't forget to follow me on Twitter at @CUOAapril
